A few notes on Melting Pot Season Two. First of all - to those who read and enjoy the series, thanks! Any and all comments are always welcome. Secondly - I had scheduled Episode 3 to come out on Sept. 5, but finally realized that is labor day. (I realized this due to the fact that my inlaws are coming to visit this weekend. Appropriately enough, the Episode is titled "Inlaw Blues") This being the case, I have decided to post the story a bit early. Thursday, Sept. 1st it will be available. I hope this doesn't mess Brendan up too much, if so, my apologies. Third - some of you (BorgCrazy) have pointed out some rather dark things happening so far. Oddly enough, some of what I thought were dark have been overlooked. To summarize: The Destruction of the Wing Chun Handing over Admiral Windgarde for Torture Seetamyn's continued disfigurement and other little things. Unfortunately, its going to get even darker. I say this not to scare anyone away, but to give fair warning to those who read Traks for the light-hearted humor. In the next several Episodes, I'm going to be exploring themes like; responsibility, duty and honor and the consequences of those themes. Episode 3 will be the lightest Episode for some time. It serves as a prequel to Episodes 4 and 5 which are, to put it frankly, real downers. I'm gonna throw a spoiler in here, so if you want to be surprised, skip the next paragraph! (You'll have to highlight it to read it) In Episode 5 a major crewmember DIES! I'm not going to say who or under what circumstances, but they're gone! In Episode 6 I wrap up the Black Queen Saga. There's more death and destruction and someone will transfer from the Menagerie to the Aikido. So that's two crewmembers gone in two Episodes! After Episode 6, comes the first Movie. Its not real upbeat either, but it does put certain situations in place for Season Three. It isn't really that dark, when you get down to it, (at least not for Melting Pot), but it is a bit intense. Then come three pretty light Episodes. These will serve as a chance for the crew to catch their breaths for a little bit until the two-parter at Episodes 10-11 - a trip to the Happyverse! Episode 12 is a pretty dark story with repercussions that carry into Season Three, but nothing will prepare you for Episode 13, the Season Finale! I've decided to go without sleep for a while and I have completed Episodes 3,4,5,6,8 and the Movie. The other Episodes are in various stages of completion - anywhere from 10% to 80% I have outlined, titled and scheduled the next 23 Episodes, bringing the series through Season Three (July 2006-April 2007) Season Three will be MUCH lighter! (really!) It will also be MUCH different from what has gone before. Thanks for reading, Paul C. 8/30/2005
