OK - I had mentioned that one of this season's stories would be very
heavily influenced by a recent movie.  This is that story.  Along the way,
it picked up a few more influences and arrived in the format that is now
available.

In case anyone was interested, the main influence started out to be
[b]The Bone Snatcher[/b] (2003).  Along the way, some of the Doctor Who episode
[i]The Power of Kroll[/i] (1975) snuck in.  Since that episode was somewhat influenced
by the movie [b]The Flame Barrier[/b]* (1958), I'll list it too!
The CIFAL, by the way, is from AD&D.

I had originally written a sequence with all the Andorians on board
having nightmares caused by the super-CIFAL, but, with Doctor Pish
leaving quite soon, it just didn't work out, so I scrapped it.

I think this story moves along pretty well, the juxtapostion between the
crisis of the away team and the crisis on the Menagerie seemed to work
pretty well (if I do say so, myself).

All in all, I'm quite happy with this one.

Go ahead - rip it to shreds, now!


*I have three copies of [b]The Flame Barrier[/b].  All seem to be made from the
same master and all are in pretty bad shape.  If anyone knows of a better
source for this movie, please let me know.

PS - The Quests are now half over.  The next story is very experimental
(at least it's not a musical).  "Tesseract", will be available the first
weekend in December.
